Customer Page

Why would I want to be an Ambit Energy Customer?

For starters the rates are just plain better than the rates that my old monopoly energy companies were giving me.

I know it is hard to imagine but the monopoly didn’t offer me the best deal.

In my state of Pennsylvania, Ambit Energy offers a guaranteed savings rate. They literally guarantee that you will save money over your traditional energy company during a 12 month period.Switching to Ambit Energy for my gas and electric supplier was a no brainer.

Not every state has a guaranteed savings rate, so you need to actually look at the rates. This is pretty simple, and I have a link below where you can compare your rates and see for yourself if Ambit will save you money or not.

Now here is some sad news, Ambit Energy is only deployed in 17 States and the nation of Japan.Ambit will expand into every state, but some are not open for business yet. Here is a list of the states that Ambit services

Ambit Energy provides energy in 17 areas, all of which have deregulated energy markets. Ambit operates in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, D.C..

If your state is not on this list, then you need to jump to the Ambit Business page, don’t worry, you can still be in the business even if you can’t be your own customer.

There is no cost to switch to Ambit, that seems like a fair price to me.

Better than that, after you make the first two payments on your monthly bill with Ambit Energy, you get a gift from Ambit. You get a voucher for a free hotel stay at one of 60 cities. I have actually taken two trips, the trips are real.

Here is a list of the cities where you can use your voucher. Not every city in America is on the list, but you are bound to like at least one of them.Again, this is a gift from Ambit Energy just for being a customer.

Example list of hotels utilized for this promotion:

Hampton Inn, Red Roof Inns, Best Western, Choice Hotels, Fairfield Inn, La Quinta, Ramada

I need to point out that none of these hotels are the Ritz Carton, but what hotel did you old monopoly energy company offer you?

This was an important piece of info for me, because I was afraid of getting locked into a long contract where Ambit Energy would change the rate on me once I was locked in.I know for a fact that some other companies use this trick, and it sucks. The good news is that Ambit Energy doesn’t have contracts that lock you in, you can switch back at any time with no penalty. Is that fair?

As an added bonus, Ambit Energy allows you to accumulate travel points as a customer. You are not charged extra for this.Ambit just makes a little less profit on your bill than you old carrier did, and they pass part of that money back to you in the form of travel rewards. This link explains Ambit’s travel reward program better than I can.

Lastly, let’s talk about Ambit Energy’s free energy program

Does Ambit Energy really give people free energy?

Yes, but with a caveat.

The devil is in the details. The Ambit free energy program is unique in the industry. You will not hear another offer of free energy from any gas company or electric company that I am aware of.

Here is how it works.Every customer is given their own customer registration website. The customer can use this site to save their friends money on their bills. If you want to make a friend, then saving them money on a bill that they have to pay is a really good start.

Once the customer registers 15 other addresses that want to save money on their bills, then the customer gets free energy. That is pretty sexy.

The caveat is that you only get the supply or retail part of the bill.So it is not exactly free, but it is generally a 60-70% savings.Would you like to save 60-70% on you gas and electric bills? Yeah, me too. That is why I don’t have an issue with the free energy being not entirely free. It is still a far better deal than my old legacy energy companies were offering me.Remember that I am a landlord.Lots of us landlords own more than 15 properties. So the free energy part was really easy for me.

Follow this link to see how much Ambit Energy can save you. You can look up your area by zip code and see how we compare to your current energy provider. If you don’t like the answer then you are free to walk away. If you like what you see, then sign up.Is that fair?
